Texas Real Estate Contracts What to Expect When Buying a Home
Below is a list of the most common contracts, amendments, and addendums that you might be presented with when buying a home in Texas. ALL Texas REALTORS® use the same forms. I have found that it is always a good idea to let my clients take their time to read over the contracts before we are ready to make an offer. That way they can have some questions ready in advance or decide if they would like to present the contracts to their attorney. I don't like being pressured into signing a contract without reading and understanding everything in it. Neither do my clients. The First contract (1-4 Family Residential Contract) is the one an offer is presented with. The contract describes the property, how much it is being sold for, disclosures/liabilities, and who does what and when. It is the fundamental instrument in the Real Estate transaction.
